Journey from the Pit

Because I was reflecting this morning on my suicide attempt I thought I’d share this as a way of continuing the healing process into 2017 and to share with others who are going through this that I have been there as well.

Ninefold Evolution

This was written during outpatient therapy to give poetic imagery to my journey with rage, shame, and suicide.

One Response to Journey from the Pit

Utter hopelessness not accompanied by imagry but black despair… led me to enter a lake and want to keep on walking. I had no thoughts about ones to be left behind just a driven need to escape from the reality of lost….. hopelessness. I was perhaps fortunate……never quite sure why or how but I heard a voice…….How dare you! Your life is not your own. Live for others! I can’t tell you WHOSE Voice it was or even how I got back to shore BUT I do know this……….there was a learning curve in my life where from that time onward I began my search for my own answers to why I am here. Ever since through my journey of marriage, motherhood etc etc. it has been a constant…..your life is not yours. Live for others! (not sure what spectrum of mental space I might fall into() but I do understand completely what it is to KNOW and experience BLACK despair. Thanks for sharing.
