Almost a year old and still true!
“Thank goodness it’s Friday! I’m ready for some rest and relaxation!” This is something you may hear on occasion in the workplace. Five days a week we grind through the hours waiting until we get home and waiting until the weekend. Rest is what we seek. We want to put our minds and bodies at ease for a little while. That way we can just keep repeating the same pattern over and over.
Rest ends up getting overused. It becomes the default state for many Americans. Once the eight hour day is done we go home and turn on our TV’s, play our video games, or overeat and drink too much.
