Threadbare Heart

My threadbare heart
Falling apart at the seams
Edges frayed and torn
slowly coming undone
as she pulls on threads
not already being pulled
by those who came before

My threadbare heart
stained black in sad ink
dripped like droplets
of pin-prick crimson
and salt-white tears
so soon undone
by a singular voice

My threadbare heart
revealing the stuff within
pulled out as if
a child had its way
and simply wanted to see
what it was inside
that made it so comfortable.

…this is simply so utterly revealing of where your fragile heart is right now…and I love that line…simply wanted to see what it was inside that made it so comfortable. Such a touching subject, such moving words my friend… 🙂
