Secret of Letting Go – A Makeshift Sonnet

There exists a secret in letting go
And still remembering Her sacred love
It’s as easy as letting the wind blow
Yet like riding on the wings of a dove
Through every struggle and all the tears
The body, mind, and spirit have broken
Though you’ve chosen to take on all Her fears
Words of support are no longer spoken
This love, this love is eternally strong
Like thunder rolling over the valley
Waiting, waiting, waiting for far too long
Please, is there hope yet our love can rally?

In all things I must let her ever be
For what’s on my path should be all I see

  1. I find this worthy of comment on a couple levels…. first – I’m stumbling to find the flow of the pentameter. Especially lines 4,5,6,9,10. Also it seems to be almost a comment on the way a relationship of mine is at the moment – very serendipitous.

    • I’ll be honest, I wasn’t happy with the flow either. It was kind of strange going through and writing a poem that I was inspired to do “XV. Death” and then following it up with one I forced – this one. I try not to force poetry but this time I did. 😀
