Lady in the Light – A Sonnet

Behold, m’lady, the darkened chasm
Filled with myriad sins you have buried
Now your spirit will tremble and spasm
Crumbling beneath the weight you have carried

You are not in solitude as you cross
For the very earth beneath supports you
Let go of all the suffering and loss
And give all those old pains their final due

Through the darkness you’ve broken into light
Blossoming like the golden rose and thorn
The path you have followed has been made right
In the sacred waters you are reborn

Lady in the Light you will always be
The only woman I will ever see
