If You Ever

If you ever loved her
and looked into her eyes
you’d see how much she loved you
and Love would be your reply.

If you ever loved her
and held her in your arms
you’d feel how much she needs you
and you’d keep her free from harm

If you ever loved her
and heard how she was in pain
you’d know that you must listen
and let her tears fall down like rain

I have always loved her
in her eyes there’s so much glee
Our souls cry out to each other
and I see no reason to flee.

I have always loved her
and I’m ready for her embrace
Our warmth spreads to one another
and I have been gifted with her grace.

I have always loved her
and I’ve listened to every word
Our worlds apart but never closer
and my life will always be hers.
