Life Upon the Rack

Emptiness and the void within
Poetry and soliloquy
The pendulum of time begins
Weary of the monotony

Bequeathed in blessings and bright gifts
And yet lonely in the dwelling
Wreckage of emotional rifts
The body and mind are swelling

Looking upon my reflection
The ugliness is staring back
All hope evading detection
A lonely life upon the rack
