Angel You Were

There was a moment where I wondered
if you were the angel from my dreams
The comfort you gave in just one touch
Compassion shared on one fateful day
An embrace crying desperation

I begged you to stay… We had to part
Your return was on the Day of Sun
Light blossomed in radiant halo
Sweet tears, warm touch, and life-giving breath
Forbidden words not spoken too soon

The moment lingered in compressed time
Angel you were and will always be
Sacred hearts held fast by the divine
The Soul of Man bound to the Woman
Angel you were and will always be

Glad my wandering led me to your site. Not sure if I should say “Glad we met or Glad we net” 🙂

My thoughts flow back to her this morning. Not a full grief or clinging to what was — just thoughts that come and go and require expression. This poem is that expression.
