Minute and a Half

The words were a rushed job.
They were thrown on paper quick!
Except it wasn’t paper at all.
It was a white screen
with multiple windows
and one window in particular
stood out among the rest.
Oddly it was entitled “Notepad”

But I had time on my hand.
I could write whatever I wanted.
Yet I churned out words
as if being milked
by a faceless blog.

Anxiously I awaited and watched.
The numbers tick upwards
so mind-numbingly slow
“Is this the new face of poetry?”
I wasn’t even sure I cared.

In the end I knew what I knew.
Words rushed forth.
Each poem different than the last.
No discernible style
could be measured between any two.
It was a rushed job.
And this poem was written
…in a minute and a half.
