This is an old poem I am publishing here for archival purposes. It was updated May 5, 2001.I do not remember the original date it was authored.
Given life by amniotic Water.
Given flesh by softened Earth.
Given breath by vital Air
Given grace by quickened Fire.
Spirit moves us to greater Passion.
Elements forming the Sacred Word.
Ancestors whisper ancient Secrets
We, the people, choose to ignore.
Change shines ever down around us
Humanity slams its metal doors.
Great Earth weeps for her lonely Children
Who have turned aside Peace for Greed.
We are shaking our fists in pride
Mother Earth is left to bleed.
Of the children who understand
We lift our heads to the sky.
We swear upon that solemn oath
and in our hearts we cry.
Our tears shed not for Gaea
Eternal — She will never die.
The Beast rises up in Man
He surrendered to every Sin.
In the end the Earth will judge
This Race that cannot win.
