This is an old poem I am publishing here for archival purposes. I do not remember the date this was written but it would have been between 1998 and 2001.
Gazing into orange-red depths the flames
leap and dance rhythmically entrancing.
Heat pours fourth like a warm embrace
drying away salt tears from eyes drawn.
Adrenaline floods the body calm.
Dance begins in licks of cadence.
Rage, compassion, and that is between
is embodied in the roaring heart flame.
Her body moves and the fire with her
Love and lust, desire and adventure.
Hypnotized our souls melt together
consumed by action, will, and thought.
Fire moves. Fire roars. Fire burns.
