Angela

angelyinyang

This is an old poem I am publishing here for archival purposes. It was written on May 1, 2001. This has been updated from its original and could be converted into a song.

I have seen two aspects juxtaposed.
In the moments of your darkness.
In the moments of your light.
Each, intertwined, part of you.
What words between a mystery.

Angela, did you smile?
Did a tear run down your cheek?
Angela, did you whisper?
Did you burst into harmony?
Angela, did you fear his touch?
Did you long to be held?
Angela, did you still wander?
Did your path ever be found?

You have seen into hidden worlds.
Into a Heaven known only in dreams.
The road may have led through Hell
This bitter moment now eternal seems
May you find your inner peace.

Angela, did you smile?
Did a tear run down your cheek?
Angela, did you build walls?
Did you cross the threshold?
Angela, did they understand?
Did they see only themselves?
Angela, did you still wander?
Did your path ever be found?

You’ve seen deceit and have had your fill.
Have you let go of love or left room for more?
Words cut like steel and though your heart is soft,
You’ve a burning passion and a song yet to sing.
There is beauty in the moment and in the moment only you.
