Shattered Mile

Written December 16, 2014. Inspired by a fellow patient.

Dark eyes belie a hidden smile
buried deep an yet all the while
She shines with a Light
She does not Know
Within the White…
Outside the Snow.
She’s walked alone on her shattered mile.

Dark hair wrapped like raven feathers
around Her soul like stormy weather,
She rises with the Sun
She is silver as the Moon
Beyond the path not chosen
When hearts break too soon.
She’s not alone on her shattered mile.
